How have your interactions with the digital affected your interactions with the divine? That is the question that Kathryn Bennett strives to answer in this, her first "chapbook" or small pamphlet of poetry. Independently published, raw, and deeply personal, the collection examines the relationships we maintain through and with technology with regards to politics, ourselves, and each other. Bennett is a member of the micro-generation born between 1980 and 1985. She was one of the first members of Facebook in 2004 and was among the first students in her high school to have a cell phone. Those early-adopter American youths recall life without the Internet but are still considered "digital natives." This perspective allows Bennett to view both sides of the Digital Divide, examining the effect that technology has on the innermost workings of our everyday experience and considering the interplay and evolution of computers, cell phones, and social media through recent history.
Bennett is a business writer, marketer, and journalist by trade, but she has lived other lives as a chemist, emergency medical technician, and ski bum. She brings compelling imagery and focuses on the play between darkness and light, soul and substance, in this thrilling pamphlet that marks her entry into the literary world.
